The Brisbane Masters Super Nines is on again in 2024. This Nines is now becoming the formal opening of the Masters hockey season and brings a large number of players together to have a great day of Nines hockey along with some fun, some drinks and relaxation.
In 2024 we are hoping to get 16 teams which is 4 more than previous years. In 2023 we had 14 team nominations. If we can't get the 16 teams we will need to run with 12 as it is near impossible to organise a draw with 13,14 or 15 teams.
The 2024 Nines will be running in the same format as previous years culminating in a Plate and Tournament Final at the end of the day.
Nominations open 1st December and close 31st December.
Nomination form must include a player list (as much as possible). Please keep in mind the 80% requirement for players to be registered with your club.
The cost of running the tournament for the day has increased over the last couple of years due to normal increases, along with extra First Aid services on the day. The team nomination cost for 2024 ultimately will depend on how many teams. If we have 12 teams the cost will be $500 per team. If we get 16 teams the cost will be in the vicinity of $420 per team.
The Brisbane Masters Super Nines is predominantly a Brisbane club teams competition however the invite is for everyone in SE Qld. We would love for regional teams to nominate to help us reach the 16 teams.
If we get more than 12 team nominations, the Committee will make a decision on which teams will be confirmed, with below criteria to be used.
- Preference for Brisbane teams and for 1 team per club/area (club second team welcomed to help give us 16 teams)
- Barbarian side to be reintroduced to cater for players who miss out on club team
(if necessary)
