Australian Masters Over 35's QLD players
As this newsletter lands in your inbox, there are a few of our younger masters players who are currently acclimatising (that's one way of looking at it!!!) themselves in Singapore for their upcoming matches.
This will be the third year that an Australian Over 35 team has been selected and our guys continue to represent our country with pride.
Good luck fellas, play hard and remember you have the full support of all of us here at QLD Mens Masters.
Players looking for a team in the Over 40's & 50's
In an effort to put players into a team who are wanting to attend a state championships but do not currently have a team, Garry Royle has put together an open spreadsheet that you can go to and fill in your details.
Alternatively if you are a team that is still looking for players, this is a great place to be able to contact the player directly.
Currently it is only capturing the age divisions for the Mackay tournament, however this will be developed further for future tournaments, so please utilise it and let's give all those players out there a chance to participate and enjoy the spirit of Masters Hockey.
When you have made a committment with a team/player, we ask that you fill in the columns at the right hand side of the spreadsheet for the benefit of everyone else.
Click here to go to the spreadsheet.
Over 40's & 50's State Championships
This year they are being held in Mackay from the16th-18th May. Please note that this is NOT a long weekend.
With just over 4 weeks to go we are requesting that if you are sending a team please visit our website and register your team with us and also with Hockey QLD through your association.

Closing date is April 30th but the sooner this is submitted the quicker Rossco can finalise a draw.
Over 35, 45 & 50 State Championships
To be held in Toowoomba from the 6th-9th June.
To submit a team nomination click here
Closing date is May 25th but again, the sooner your team nomination is submitted the quicker Rossco can finalise a draw.
At the conclusion of the Over 35,45,55 Championships, the 2014 QLD Mens Masters teams will be announced.
Individual nominations for QLD teams
To nominate for a Qld team in 2014 click here
Nomination closing dates are:
Over 40, Over 50: May 15
Over 35,45,55: June 5
Please be aware that you must attend the championships relevant to your age to be viewed by the selectors.
If you cannot attend the correct championships due to current Australian Masters representative commitments contact the Secretary Qld Masters Hockey to apply for an exemption.
Umpires for State Championships
Please note that it is a requirement of Hockey QLD that each team competing at a State Championships MUST provide a non playing umpire.
By providing a non playing umpire for each team you nominate, it will reduce the need for you to supply a player to umpire in addition to the number of games you play each day.
Typically your team will be expected to leave a player to umpire EVERY game immediately after theirs. If you are playing 3 or 4 games in one day...well you will be umpiring that amount of games again.
So don't be slack, bring an umpire.
There is currently no specific nomination form that we have if you would like to nominate for any of the following positions for the 2014 National Championships:
Closing dates for the positions of coach and manager will close prior to the commencement of the relevant age tournament.
Umpire nominations shall remain open until June 9th.
2014 National Championships
This year they will be held in Perth WA from Saturday September 27th to Saturday October 11th.
If you are selected in the Over 35's or 40's teams your tournament start/finish will differ from this. When a draw has been confirmed by AMHC you will be notified by your team manager.
For all other teams, you will be required to be in Perth for training Sunday 28th September.
Accommodation for this years championships this will NOT be managed by the masters committee. It is now the responsibility of individual players. It is suggested that team managers may like to assist individuals with accommodation.
Ray Langer's absence 2014
Ray is off overseas at the moment and will not be back until 18 June. Therefore he is not available to answer your questions relating to the State Championships.
