As you are all no doubt aware, Warwick Association suffered total loss of their synthetic turf in the recent floods; the cost to replace the turf is around $350,000 plus another $150,000 for supporting structures such as the clubhouse and other facilities.
The Queensland Men’s Masters Committee have launched an appeal in an effort to help Warwick raise some funds to replace the turf. We have approached Warren Flower to oversee the appeal and he has agreed to get involved.
The Appeal has opened a bank account with the Bank of Queensland for the purpose of receiving donations.
Bank particulars are:
Acc No 21567260
Name: Queensland Veterans Mens Hockey "Flood assistance a/c” Put your name in the comment line We appeal to you that if you as an individual, company, hockey club or association, that if you can see your way clear to donate funds (small or large) toward helping re-establish Warwick it would be greatly appreciated. Simply deposit funds into the bank account and please ensure that your name is marked clearly on the deposit form so a receipt can be issued. Funds have already been pledged the Qld Mens Master's Committee ( $5000) and from Sunshine Coast Men's Masters ( $1000).
If you are self employed or make a donation on behalf of a company, we will treat your funds as a sponsorship for the May 0/40 & 0/50 State Titles and the business will receive space for an advertisment in the programme at the tournament. Hence you can claim a tax deduction.
If you as an individual make a donation and require a tax deduction we are making arrangements for funds to be placed with the Australian Sports Foundation who will collect the funds and disburse them directly to Warwick. This facility should be available from 28th February.
If you have any questions in relation to the appeal please contact Warren Flower on 0427 310 695 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
We aim to run the appeal until the long week end in June when funds will be handed over to Warwick at the completion of the 0/45 & 0/55 State Titles to be held in Cairns. Let’s pull together as a team and help one of the first Queensland established hockey associations back on the road. HAVE YOU CHANGED YOUR CONTACT DETAILS? Did you know that there are over 600 players on our database and who receive this Newlsetter? The only way this database of players is updated is from the nomination forms submitted each year. Many players have changed contact details (EMail, Address, Phone Numbers) since last submitting a nomination form and it is very difficult to contact these players and keep them informed through this Newsletter. When you change any of your contact details please send an EMail to the newsletter editor at email@example.com so I can update your information. If you no longer are involved in Hockey and do not wish to receive any more information from us please send me an EMail and you will be removed from the database.
