VALE LENORE MOTT
It is with sadness that we report that Lenore Mott passed away on Wednesday 22 May 2019 after quite a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Our thoughts go out to her husband Barry and their three sons Neville, Gary, and Russell. Most will be aware that Barry has been a huge part of Queensland Masters’ Hockey for over 30 years, and that for all that time he’s had fantastic support from Lenore. Lenore was a player herself, and a coach and an umpire. She was often team manager at National Masters tournaments. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the extended family, and especially to Barry.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019
The 2019 National Championships will be held in Bunbury/Busselton in WA. The dates are as follows: Sat 28 Sept for two weeks. As in past years the younger age groups will conclude after one week while the older groups will continue for the full two weeks. Bunbury has just completed the laying of a new turf so it should be nicely worn in for our Championships.
All selected players should have received an official letter showing the money due (by 30 June) and an opportunity for players to opt in to the Qld Team accommodation ( see below). You MUST pay the money owing by 30 June AND indicate if you wish to stay with the teams - this booking is then final and you will be billed by Hockey Qld for the amount to cover accommodation. If you do not pay by the due date you will be deemed unfinancial by HQ and you will not be permitted to take the field in any Hockey game. All the Qld teams can be accommodated at this resort which is a huge advantage for team spirit - BBQ's, Team Meetings, Transport, Morning Walks, Pool use etc. Those who can remember staying in accommodation with all the qld teams can vouch for the fantastic advantages this brings.
